ANTIQUE HERITAGE: Kourion-Paphos
The excursion begins with a visit to the ancient city-state of Kourion, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Cyprus. This unique monument of antiquity is located on a picturesque hill offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Here, tourists can explore the ruins of the ancient city, with particular highlights including the magnificently preserved amphitheater, which still hosts cultural events today, as well as the stunning mosaics adorning the floors of Roman houses. Kourion was an important cultural and commercial center, and its archaeological findings provide a unique insight into life in this region more than two thousand years ago.
After visiting Kourion, the excursion continues to Aphrodite’s Beach — one of the most beautiful and famous places in Cyprus. According to ancient Greek mythology, it was here, by the coastal waters, that the goddess of love, Aphrodite, was born. The beach captivates visitors with its picturesque scenery, crystal-clear waters, and remarkable atmosphere of tranquility, making it an ideal spot for relaxation.
The final part of the excursion is a stroll along the seafront promenade of Paphos, one of the most picturesque and historic cities in Cyprus. Here, tourists can enjoy sea views, visit the Archaeological Park (optional), and then have free time for lunch (optional) at one of the cozy seaside cafés or simply relax and soak in the atmosphere of this beautiful city.
This route combines historical landmarks with natural beauty, leaving an unforgettable impression of Cyprus.
